Why choose Samsung
Samsung is a South Korean electronics company that makes air conditioning and heat pumps for homes and businesses. Its home wall units all have Wi-Fi built in and work with SmartThings, which also controls other Samsung appliances.
Samsung's stand-out feature is WindFree. Once the room is at temperature, the unit switches to WindFree mode and lets cool air out slowly through thousands of tiny holes in the front, so you don't feel a cold blast. That suits bedrooms, home offices and anyone who dislikes air blowing at them.

Samsung multi-split and commercial systems
Samsung says one multi-split outdoor unit can connect up to five indoor units, of different styles and sizes, with each room set to its own temperature. It suits houses over several floors and flats with room for only one unit outside.
For offices, shops and restaurants, Samsung makes ceiling cassettes, including WindFree versions, concealed ducted units and the DVM range for larger buildings. We survey commercial jobs before quoting, because the ceiling and layout decide what will fit.
App and controls
Every unit comes with a remote. For phone control, Samsung's app is SmartThings, on Android and iPhone. It lets you switch rooms on and off, set temperatures and schedules, and see how much power the system uses, from home or away.
SmartThings needs your home Wi-Fi and a Samsung account. Samsung lists Wi-Fi built in on its current home wall units, so there is no adaptor to add. We set the app up with you at handover.

Keeping your Samsung warranty valid
Your written quote states the Samsung warranty for your model and the servicing it needs. Plan on a service every 12 months and keep the record. We register the system for you and give you the confirmation. If a fault appears, contact us first: we diagnose it and deal with Samsung for you.
Any F-Gas certified engineer can service your system without affecting our guarantee, though our maintenance plans make the yearly service easy to remember.
Samsung servicing and repairs
We service and repair Samsung systems whoever fitted them. A service cleans the filters, coils and drain, checks the refrigerant circuit and electrics, and gives you a written record for your warranty file.
If the unit shows an error code on its display or in SmartThings, send us the code and the model number from the label on the indoor unit when you book a repair. We'll tell you what it usually means before we visit.

What is Samsung WindFree?
It is a mode on Samsung's WindFree wall units. The unit cools the room quickly first, then lets the air out slowly through thousands of tiny holes in the front panel. The room stays cool without a cold draught blowing on you. Cebu S2 and Luzon S2 don't have it.
Which Samsung unit is best for a bedroom?
A WindFree unit is the usual choice. Samsung lists the 2.5 kW Comfort S2, Avant S2 and Première+ at 16 dB(A) on the lowest fan, and WindFree mode avoids air blowing across the bed. Cebu S2 and Luzon S2 are listed at 19 dB(A) on the lowest fan and cost less, so they suit spare rooms.
How long is the Samsung warranty?
Samsung sets the warranty for each product, so the length depends on the model. We register every new system for Samsung's standard warranty and confirm the exact length and terms for your model in writing on your quote. On top of that you get our 2-year workmanship guarantee, and no labour charge for manufacturer faults in the first 2 years.
Can Samsung air conditioning heat my home in winter?
Yes. Samsung wall units are heat pumps, so they heat as well as cool. Samsung lists heating down to -15°C outside on its current home wall units. If heating is the main reason you want it, tell us at the survey and we size the system for the room's heat loss.
Can I control Samsung air conditioning with SmartThings?
Yes. Samsung lists Wi-Fi built in on its current home wall units, so they connect to the SmartThings app over your home Wi-Fi with a Samsung account. You can switch rooms on and off, change the temperature, set schedules and check power use.
Do I have to service Samsung air conditioning every year?
Plan on a service every 12 months to keep the warranty and the system in good order, and keep the records. Any F-Gas certified engineer can do it. Our annual service starts from £119, with a written record each time.
Will you repair a Samsung system someone else installed?
