Why choose Fujitsu
Fujitsu General is a Japanese manufacturer that has made air conditioning for decades. From 1 January 2026 it trades as GENERAL, and its UK arm is now GENERAL HVAC Solutions UK. New models are moving to the GENERAL name gradually, and the company says it keeps supporting Fujitsu-branded systems already fitted in the UK. The ranges and the AIRSTAGE product name carry on.
Fujitsu suits you if you want quiet, efficient heating and cooling without paying for a design badge. The range is simple to choose from: a premium Designer Series, an everyday Standard Series, and a compact ECO Series for smaller rooms.
- Bedrooms: the Designer Series runs down to 19 dB(A) on its Quiet setting, according to Fujitsu
- Tight walls: Fujitsu says the Designer Series is narrow enough to fit above a door
- Winter heating: Fujitsu says the Designer Series keeps heating down to -20°C outside
- Large rooms: Standard Series units at 5.2 and 7.1 kW
- Several rooms: one outdoor unit can run up to five indoor units

Fujitsu figures we checked
These figures come from the manufacturer's own UK product pages. Efficiency is the seasonal figure: the higher it is, the less electricity the unit uses.
| Model | Size | Cooling (SEER) | Heating (SCOP) | Quiet setting |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Designer Series (ASEH09KJCAL) | 2.5 kW | 9.2 | 5.1 | 19 dB(A) |
| Standard Series (ASEH09KMCG) | 2.5 kW | 8.4 | 4.6 | 20 dB(A) |
| ECO Series (ASEH09KNCA) | 2.5 kW | 7.4 | 4.4 | 20 dB(A) |
| Standard Series (ASEH24KMTGL) | 7.1 kW | 7.3 | 4.3 | 29 dB(A) |
All four run on R32 refrigerant. SCOP is for the average European climate band. Sound levels are indoor sound pressure in cooling on the Quiet fan setting. App control on these models needs an optional WLAN adapter.

Fujitsu multi-split and commercial systems
Fujitsu's R32 multi-split outdoor units come in versions for two, three, four and five rooms. Fujitsu says indoor and outdoor units can be mixed and matched, so rooms of different sizes can share one unit outside. It suits terraces and flats with room for only one outdoor unit.
For offices, shops and restaurants, Fujitsu makes ceiling cassettes, including a compact 4-way cassette that fits a standard grid ceiling, concealed ducted units and the AIRSTAGE VRF range for larger buildings. We survey commercial jobs before quoting, because the ceiling and layout decide what will fit.
App and controls
Every unit comes with a handheld remote. For phone control, the current app is AIRSTAGE Mobile. It covers on and off, mode, fan speed and a weekly timer, can group units by room or floor, and works with smart speakers.
On the current wall units, app control needs an optional WLAN adapter fitted inside the indoor unit. Older Fujitsu systems may use the earlier FGLair app instead. Your quote lists the adapter if you want app control, and we set the app up with you at handover.
What warranty you get
Every new Fujitsu system we fit comes with the cover below. Your written quote sets it out before you pay a deposit.
- The manufacturer's warranty: its length depends on the product and the installer. We register every new system for its standard warranty and confirm the exact terms for your model in writing on your quote
- Our own 2-year workmanship guarantee on the installation, which transfers to the new owner if you sell
- No labour charge for manufacturer faults in the first 2 years
- Your full legal rights on top
Keeping your Fujitsu warranty valid
Your written quote states the warranty for your model and the servicing it needs. Plan on a service every 12 months and keep the record. We register the system for you and give you the confirmation. If a fault appears, contact us first: we diagnose it and deal with the manufacturer for you.
Any F-Gas certified engineer can service your system without affecting our guarantee, though our maintenance plans make the yearly service easy to remember.
Fujitsu servicing and repairs
We service and repair Fujitsu systems, including ones we didn't fit and ones that carry the GENERAL name. A service cleans the filters, coils and drain, checks the refrigerant circuit and electrics, and gives you a written record for your warranty file.
If the indoor unit is flashing its lights or showing a code, note the pattern and the model number from the label on the side of the unit. Send them when you book a repair and we'll tell you what it usually points to before we visit.
Questions to ask any Fujitsu installer
Whoever you choose, these answers should be in writing before you pay a deposit.
- Which exact model and size are you quoting, indoor and outdoor?
- How long is the manufacturer's warranty on this model, and is it parts and labour?
- Who registers the system for the warranty, and when?
- What servicing does the warranty need, and can any F-Gas engineer do it?
- How long is your own workmanship guarantee, and does it transfer if I sell?
- Is the WLAN adapter for app control included in the price?
Fujitsu questions
How much does Fujitsu air conditioning cost to install in London?
A single ECO or Standard Series wall unit in a bedroom or study starts from £1,850 fitted, with 5 m of pipe. A living room size starts from £2,050. The Designer Series adds from £250 per indoor unit. Two rooms on one outdoor unit start from £3,650. Your quote is fixed after a survey.
Is Fujitsu air conditioning now called GENERAL?
Yes. Fujitsu General changed its trade name to GENERAL from 1 January 2026, and its UK company is now GENERAL HVAC Solutions UK. New products are moving to the GENERAL name gradually. The company says support for Fujitsu-branded systems already fitted in the UK carries on as before. We fit and service both.
How long is the Fujitsu warranty?
It depends on the product and on the installer's status with the manufacturer, and Fujitsu General doesn't publish one set of UK terms, so we register every new system for its standard warranty and confirm the exact terms for your model in writing on your quote. On top of that you get our 2-year workmanship guarantee, and no labour charge for manufacturer faults in the first 2 years.
Which Fujitsu unit is best for a bedroom?
The Designer Series is the usual choice. Fujitsu lists the 2.0 and 2.5 kW sizes at 19 dB(A) on the Quiet setting, which is about a whisper, and it has the best efficiency in the range. The Standard and ECO Series run at 20 dB(A) on Quiet and cost less, so they suit spare rooms and smaller budgets.
Can Fujitsu air conditioning heat my home in winter?
Yes. Fujitsu wall units are heat pumps, so they heat as well as cool. Fujitsu says the Designer Series keeps heating down to -20°C outside and the Standard Series down to -15°C. If heating is the main job, tell us at the survey and we size the system for it.
Can I control Fujitsu air conditioning from my phone?
Yes, with the AIRSTAGE Mobile app. On the current wall units it needs an optional WLAN adapter fitted inside the indoor unit, so we list it on your quote if you want app control. Older systems may use the FGLair app instead.
Do I have to service Fujitsu air conditioning every year?
Plan on a service every 12 months to keep the warranty and the system in good order, and keep the records. Any F-Gas certified engineer can do it. Our annual service starts from £119, with a written record each time.
Will you repair a Fujitsu system someone else installed?
Yes. We repair and service Fujitsu systems whoever fitted them, including older ones. If it is still under warranty, tell us when you book and bring the paperwork if you have it. We'll check what is covered before charging for parts.
